Ways to Volunteer

Posted on May 16 2012 - 2:27pm

Many Hands Make Light Work!   That bit of wisdom is so true in scouting.     If we could get every family to help with just one event, no one would feel overworked and we would have lots of fun.      Our leaders work hard every single week to have productive den meetings that benefit all the boys.  They do this with no compensation other than knowing they have done a good deed for the boys. Leaders often spend money from their own pockets and always spend their personal time preparing.  If our leaders also have to run every pack event it can become overwhelming.

Youth Protection - Mandatory Training for All Adults

Posted on May 16 2012 - 2:23pm

Safety of our scouts and families is of the highest priority within our pack and the entire BSA.  For that reason, the BSA requires that all parents listed on our charter complete the Youth Protection Training online.  To do this, you must go to www.myscouting.org and log in or create a new account.  Click on "Take Youth Protection Training."     You can complete your site registration and training with or without a member ID number.   Once you have completed the training and taken the quiz, print your certificate (or save it and email it to the pack).  This is a very important  record that we are required to have.     The process will only take about a half-hour, but it goes a long way toward ensuring a safe environment for our scouts.  Thanks for your cooperation in this.

Other awards you can earn

Posted on May 16 2012 - 2:22pm

Your handbooks and this website list information for other awards scouts can earn both individually and as a group but I though I would post links to a few of the BSA websites in case anyone has not found that information yet.
